A good few hours had before the game with a stop off in Burton and then on to Derby for another defeat! I can't fault the passion and support from our fans again today, sang from the first whistle until the last.
George Saville had a torrid time up against Tom Ince throughout the game. On our last three games including today the floodgates have opened in front of goal. The only surprise to me after today's defeat was we only lost by 3-1, bu half-time, the 2-1 scoreline, could have been at least double in Derby County's favour. The first two goals scored with ease, the Nugent header and Johnson's effort, for Nugent's goal, the Derby forward able to ghost in behind Coady at the far post. For Johnson's goal, the player arrived in the penalty area unchallenged.
Ivan Cavaleiro can only blame himself for his sending off, reacting to a verbal exchange, you put your head towards another player and there's only one outcome, he deserved to go. Wolves were up against it with eleven on the pitch, nevermind playing with one less.
It was good to get a goal back from Marshall after good work by Dicko. The forward making the most of a lack of support up top on his own. Quite a few of the Wolves players today not up for it and it showed, second to the ball and often given the ball away on numerous occasions. Dicko was a willing runner in his time on the pitch, but with barely any support, he's fighting a losing battle.
It was no surprise that Derby scored a third through Bryson. Wolves lacked all over the pitch, especially the full back areas, Derby could hit Wolves on the break and get in behind our back four. Our central midfield area is also a concern, too defensive minded, but the opposition still gets through.
Dicko, Marshall and a few bright moments from Enobakhare is all Wolves can take from Derby. A big summer ahead for Lambert, or whoever is in charge next season. The season end can't come soon enough. On the road this season has been a whole lot better than at home, but today replicated many of those poor home performances.
