I expected a tough game and Wolves got one, to come away with a 3-1 win against a good Fulham side that never allowed us to settle is pleasing to say the least.
I've said Wolves play better away from home and again we proved that. Our change of fortune in the last two away games has coincided with the return of Cavaleiro, he, Costa, Weimann and Marshall all compliment each other so well. The game itself was so open and both sides going for it, the football was also pleasing on the eye. I'd take games like this one over the Rotherham game last Saturday every time, but the same outcome is maximum points.
Costa looks like he's got a new lease of life in the last couple of games, he played his part in the first and third goals, scored by Cavaleiro and Edwards. He has close ball control and quick feet, no one could live with him in this type of form.
For Wolves after taking the lead, scored the second when it looked like Fulham was going to throw the kitchen sink at Wolves, Weimann's goal Wolves breathing space. But once Odoi pulled one back, Lambert made the right decision in taking Marshall off, for five minutes he was giving the ball away needlessly. The third goal killed Fulham off, good to see Edwards getting into double figures for the season.
In defeat, it's quick and easy to pick out mistakes, at the back Wolves were solid, despite the goal conceded, the space that Odoi got was the only blip. Lee Evans has had a couple of decent games now, spreading the ball about, allowing the attacking players to build attacks, so good to see.
Ten points from twelve now gives Wolves a bit of breathing space and moves them up the table, long may it continue after the International break. Good support from the travelling Wolves fans and the journey home was a happy one.
