Last night was the first time in ages that i can say i enjoyed watching a Wolves performance. Make no mistake about it many of us wanted to see chances created and goals scored, we got that. The margin of victory could have been greater if other chances for Costa, Doherty and Bodvarsson had been put away.
I was impressed with the tempo and the way we attacked. Some might say the sending off changed the course of the game, it did, but up until the first goal from Edwards, i was thinking it wasn't going to be Wolves' night. The big difference for me last night was having Saiss on the pitch, a player who can pick a pass. The attacking play from both Doherty and Iorfa was good to see. I'm glad both Costa, Dicko and Cavaleiro also gave Wolves something different to what has been on show of late.
Like him or not, Edwards has a habit of coming up with goals, took it well and as with Costa's excellent effort it was right in front of us. Wolves aren't Wolves without giving you a nervy ending to a game. A crowded area and Lynch pulled a goal back. I don't know who the player was who had the chance to equalise as it was up the other end, but if it was a Wolves perspective, i wouldn't be happy.
A lot of talk has been of defensive partnership and before the game was hoping Stearman and Batth would be paired together, i'm glad they were. The victory was even more sweeter for me as Ian Holloway has been vocal about everything Wolves since his mate Jackett got his coat, shame really.
I actually expected more from QPR, but i thought they were disappointing, their main weapons were a long throw and from other set-pieces.
