It was good to see a Wolves reaction after the shambles against Cardiff City last week. To concede as early as we did though had that sinking feeling again once Polter header QPR in front. I though Wolves would go on to concede a few more, it was good to see a reaction after the goal, more in the second half though.
Since his return from his loan spell with Brighton, Wolves are seeing a totally different player in van La Parra, one playing with a lot of confidence. Paul Konchesky couldn't handle him. the one cross van La Parra put over in the first half, low and a cross the six yard area was quality, no one there to get on the end of it. In the second half he played with freedom, attacked Konchesky aat every opportunity. He needs to perform on a consist basis though. Who knows, he could just be putting himself in the transfer shop window.
Both sides may feel they could and should have won the game. For Wolves, the efforts from Doherty, Coady and the header by Edwards drawing saves from the QPR keeper. QPR also close to winning it near the end, unmarked Cherry hitting the post.
I'm happy Wolves came away with a point, but provided us with a performance in the first half that wasn't good enough, defenders resorting to hitting long balls for Le Fondre or into areas where no Wolves players were making runs. The second half was a big improvement, chances created, full backs linking well with Henry and van La Parra. Even Ikeme having players wanting the ball at their feet from him. I hope to see more of it against Bolton. Wolves know they can pass the ball and attack.
