An enjoyable day out which began at 8:00 am, we stopped off in Ilford and set off for Charlton at 13:45.
The first half was a virtual non event for both sides, one moment for hearts in your mouth stuff was after Ebanks-Landell played a ball to Coady, his over hit pass went out for a corner. Wolves barely created and had a couple of half chances, one notably for Afobe, nothing to trouble Henderson though. One other talking point from the half was the injury to the referee and then the second half kicking off a good fifteen minutes late.
Whatever Kenny Jackett said during the break seemed to give Wolves a big lift. Wolves played on the front foot, both full backs linking up with the winger just in front of them. Coady covered a lot of ground in the half and numerous occasions both Edwards and himself making runs into the box trying to get on the end of things.
Wolves took the lead after good work from Afobe, putting a low ball in that Henderson failed to claim, it may only have from close range but Jordan Graham will have enjoyed his first league goal for Wolves, he wasn't too far away with an earlier chance that went just wide.
In recent weeks Wolves have often looked vulnerable just after taking the lead, but today was continued to hit Charlton on the break. Both Ebanks-Landell and Batth causing problems in the Charlton area when set-pieces were put in. Danny Batth may try to claim the second Wolves goal, but he played his part in forcing Lennon into making the mistake. From my viewpoint it was an own goal.
One late scare saw Charlton have a penalty appeal turned down, seen them given, but so glad it wasn't.
My thoughts on today's win, i won't get carried away, but six points from six is a good return.
